CHATS-AS 2017

CHATS-AS 2017 was the workshop #12 in the series.

The CHATS on Applied Superconductivity Workshop was organized by the Tohoku University (Sendai, Japan) and held at the Institute for Material Research on 10-12th December 2017.

The Workshop was the twelfth in the series started in 1993, and continued along the lines of its initial scope, namely bring convergence in the scientific community in the simulation for superconducting applications.

The CHATS-AS 2017 was mainly focussed on HTS materials, cables and coils, covering applications from fusion, to power generation and transmission. The 35 participants presented a total of 27 oral contributions on HTS magnet design and mechanics (Session 1), HTS electromagnetics and quench (Session 2), HTS magnets and applications (Session 6), as well as the more classical LTS cables, magnets and cryogenics (Sessions 3 and 4), Thermo-hydraulics and cryogenics (Session 5).
